Hi guys, thought I'd post on this wall too since it ties in with this group too (also posted to long term TTC/Fertility issues)

Something happened to me yesterday and I really want to get it off my chest (it's really upset me).

3 years ago I was diagnosed with sever endometriosis after I had disabling pains in my belly (sometimes I could only manage to crawl it was that bad). I didn't want kids at the time so I was put on the injection which stopped my periods and stopped the endo pain. I came off the injection last year and my periods got back to normal, trying to conceive, everythings fine...

So anyway, been on clomids since April and I was 2 weeks late for my period which I got on Saturday. It was extremely heavy and came with stomach cramps. It just so happens though that I had a blood test before I came on.

Yesterday I gradually started getting pain and I couldn't stand properly, I then went as white as a piece of paper and went dizzy and started slurring my words!! paramedic came out to work and they wanted me to go to the hospital, I didn't want to go so promised them I would go to docs.

Went to docs - they told me 2 things:-

1 - Based on my blood test I am severely aneamic and because of all the blood I lost since the test, my body went into a state of shock. Doc was suprised i didn't faint!!

2 - the endometriosis pain is coming back

The aneamia I don't mind as that can be solved with iron tablets. But the only way to stop the endometriosis pain is to go back on the injection or have a hysterectomy (strong painkillers do not help in the slightest). So my options are, try fr a baby and have severe pains every month or go on the injection!!

I really want kids and I feel that I have no choice but to bear the pain (pain is so bad I'm thinking about getting a hysterectomy already - only 26!!)

I'm sorry to hear about what you are going through stephj25. I had a co-worker with horrible endo and she was told by her doctors that if she wanted to have kids it was going to have to be soon b/c they wanted to remove her uterus. She wasn't even in a relationship so she opted to wait. She really wants kids but now isn't the time. She did get in with a pain clinic of sorts to try to better deal with her situation.

Thanks hun, I've discussed things with my OH and it has been agreed that if the pain doesn't go away then I will have the op. Giving up any chance of having children of my own. Endometriosis ruined my life before, I'm not going to let it again. Difficult decisions eh? sigh.

It's really the pits that you have to make the decision at all. Nothing is in stone yet though so hopefully the pain will pass and this will just be a little blip for you.

Hi Steph, when you say no stronger pain killlers work , does that mean you have tried all of them and has your GP discussed all possible pain killers or refered to a pain team if possible? I hope everything goes well for you whatever you decide hun. Pain is not something that anyone should have to experience over a long period of time. It most def distroys ones quality of life. Good luck x

thank you. I have taken that many painkillers (prescribed by the hospital) I can't imagine there being any ones I haven't tried.
I would not wish this pain on anyone, it's awful!!

Still, I wish good luck on everyone and :dust: to all that are ttc

I've just been reading my past threads and I have a come a long way since this one!

- I got pregnant August 2011
- I had a appendectomy at 35 weeks pregnant
- I had my baby girl May 2012 - birth went well but ended up having 9 units of blood as bleeding severly
- Been trying to conceive #2 since Jan 2013 with no success
- March 2014 I was rushed to hospital to have an endometrioma removed (6cm) . They also removed some of my endometriosis from my ovaries during the emergency op.

And here I am with a 2 year old that I thought I'd never had. So never give up!!

I have started taking vitex in desperate hope that this helps me get pregnant quicker. At least I know that I CAN get pregnant now :) I am determined and am on my strict endo diet to help (this helped me get pregnant before)

Wow, you have come a long way. So glad you got your lovely baby and I hope the next one will be on the way soon :)

Did you get pregnant on clomid? I am going to be going to see a private fertility specialist as I feel I need progesterone support in the 2WW and in pregnancy, I wonder if they will suggest clomid too but so worried about taking it as it can make endo worse from what I have read, I really don't want the pain back again xx

Hi lisey

Yeah I got pregnant with Clomid with my first. Although I don't want to go back on it now as I suspect it my have helped the cyst to grow.
I have gone back onto my strict diet of no wheat, dairy, red meat, caffeine, alcohol soy & eggs which I strongly believe helped me conceive my first. Also drinking green tea (decaf of course) and using preseed like before.

Do you have endo too then? Have you tried cutting out the above foods? It completely got rid of my pain before. I've just started back on the diet this week as I struggled a bit over Christmas and Easter!!

Yeah I have endo, I had a lap in October and still pain free at the moment, that's why I would be reluctant to go on clomid. Wouldn't want it to flare up again.
I honestly don't think I could stick to that diet, I would find it too hard and suspect I would feel miserable. If I was still having the pain and nothing was helping then it would be something I would of course consider doing though xx
