Dougal??!!!

My husband loves the name Dougal - I do not! Its after his dad as its his nickname, husband has agreed not to have it as a first name because I really don't like it but am I being mean? What does everyone think of it?
At the moment we are thinking of Wilfred as a first name so he would be Wilfred Dougal Alexander (another family name) just not sure how well it goes...

Dougal is definitely better than dudley but I'd have to say I'm also not a fan.....and isn't there a famous cartoon dog called dougal? In the magic roundabout maybe?! x

Magic roundabout was the first thing that sprang to my mind... Maybe suggest Zeberdee too but yes Dougal is better than Dudley! xx

Magic Roundabout was the first thing that came to my mind too. We called our eldest Dylan (he was the doped up rabbit) and all my parents kept bringing up was the Magic Roundabout and Zeberdee was an alternative suggestion! I have to say I'm not a fan of Dougal but it's better than Dudley! X

Dougal is better than Dudley but a friend of mine had a dog named Dougal so, combined with Magic Roundabout, I think it'll always be a bit doggy for me!? Only saying it as you've said you're not too keen on it anyway!

That said, if your Husband loves it and it would mean a lot, it's only a middle name and he won't be referred to by Dougal on a regular basis. I think as a whole, Wilfred Dougal Alexander goes together as they're all really traditional sorts of names xxx

I was about to write exactly this!!! Haha! At first I thought "aww Dougal is quite sweet" then I imagined my DH suggesting it to me and the answer "hell no" sprang to mind!!

I don't think it matters as much for a middle name though and they all sound nice together xx
