thanks weestar hun i had a quick look but to be honest im confused by it all :( xxxx

I have been looking for one with the heart rate on to, but they seem to be really expensive, the cheapest i have seen are either second hand or the angel sounds ones, but they dont show you the heart rate.

You can hire them for about £16 something from one place and they do that on ebay to but you pay a silly amount of money for it in the end.

I bought one even though I said I wouldn't!

But I love it now! Anyway there are lots of noises you can hear in there as well as baby. But you will know when you are listening to the heartbeat because it sounds very different from your own bloodflow.

Also what I did was take my mobile phone with me, then I recorded the noise from the doppler onto my phone and played it back later so I could count the beats. Alternantively just take a watch with a second hand.

Baby should be between 160-120 beats per minute, whereas its unlikely your own heartbeat will be above 90.

I found it a little difficult to find at first, getting easier each time!

Oh and they recommend that you try and restrict their use to 5-10 minutes at a time (just as a precaution).

rach ive still got mine how much did you want to spend???

mine is like the ones the midwives use

I had one from e bay but it doesn't dispaly the beats.

It is an angel sounds doppler and cost around £30.

What I do is tend to put it over my pulse near my heart so I can hear the difference :D

thanks everyone :D i would still like 1 that shows the heartbeat but without giving my credit card what for i dont think i can stretch that far so it looks like i might have to settle for 1 without the display :(
hev if your still selling yours hun pm me and let me know how much you want for it xxxxxxxxxxx
