Tom loves smiley faces and I wanted to get him a doll but they're all pink and for older children.

Does anyone know of any soft people with happy faces that would be ok for boys??

Lxx

Jude has a boy doll from the Early Learning Centre, soft bodied with a soft face too. Dressed in blue. Hope that helps x

Asda do little dolls for like £1.98 i think  they come in yellow. purple or pink :)

Ok, I got Kai a pink pushchair to push around at the weekend, I wanted a blue one but it doesn't seem to be a boys 'thing'.

I said last week at my baby group about anywhere that sells more boys ones. I really shouldn't have asked that there. Why does it matter? up until 5 they don't realise these things, let them play with pink things/girls toys blah blah.

Even someone said if she had a boy he would pink blah blah

Some people just like to run you down any chance they get as they are so perfect. Sorry I went off on a tangent about something that has been bothering me.

Kai has a pink pushchair inside but he won't be going out pushing it lol

Nathan had a soft Iggle piggle which he lost. He loved it though! Came with a little blanket and sings the iggle piggle song (night garden) I know its not a 'doll' but its just as good and its blue. Aimee has the upsy daisy but OH doesn't like him playing with it

That's brilliant! Thanks everyone!
It's crazy in this day and age that you can only get pink dolls!

I was wondering if IKEA had any as they used to sell all sorts of different cultural dolls,
but going back a few years now.
Great thread though Lucy, Isaac loves his stuffed animals so I'm sure he'll love a doll one day too,
what about The Disney Store, a Buzz or Woody?

Hi,

Wilkinson's do a soft body baby doll dressed in a day-glo blue romper suit! I actually crocheted a little red jumper to go over it anyway as it was vile, depending on the size of the doll you could dress them in prem baby clothes, white sleepsuit, that kind of thing. We got a toddler doll in a street sale and the boy who had him before had cut his hair so that he looked more boy-like anyway and we were in a charity shop and found a nice knitted dungaree and red and white stripped jumper for a doll that fitted him just right. Mel's buggy is red (lucky charity shop find!) and he loves feeding his baby and giving him milk from one of those magic bottles where it looks like the milk is vanishing!

I understand that it would kind of be ok for these things to be pink but some are SO pink that even if I had a girl I wouldn't like them! I just don't want someone insensitive to make a comment about any of it being girlie if he's out with them, that's why I've avoided the pink.

Gemma- could you say to your OH that one day Jake might be a Daddy and that it's good if he practices that now? Also toddlers see mums looking after babies all of the time, it's natural for them to want to copy it, it just means that they are learning to care for someone and also thinking about how you care for them- it won't make him effeminate, just a strong boy who is proud to show that he can look after someone like you and your OH look after him just as I guess he copies you on the phone etc etc

Personally I hated dolls and used to pull their legs off, I was always more into stuffed toys. My brother loved them though and used to play with mine and use my toy pram etc. He is still more natural with babies than I am, it's just his nature, and he is certainly not gay!
