Hi,
Wilkinson's do a soft body baby doll dressed in a day-glo blue romper suit! I actually crocheted a little red jumper to go over it anyway as it was vile, depending on the size of the doll you could dress them in prem baby clothes, white sleepsuit, that kind of thing. We got a toddler doll in a street sale and the boy who had him before had cut his hair so that he looked more boy-like anyway and we were in a charity shop and found a nice knitted dungaree and red and white stripped jumper for a doll that fitted him just right. Mel's buggy is red (lucky charity shop find!) and he loves feeding his baby and giving him milk from one of those magic bottles where it looks like the milk is vanishing!
I understand that it would kind of be ok for these things to be pink but some are SO pink that even if I had a girl I wouldn't like them! I just don't want someone insensitive to make a comment about any of it being girlie if he's out with them, that's why I've avoided the pink.
Gemma- could you say to your OH that one day Jake might be a Daddy and that it's good if he practices that now? Also toddlers see mums looking after babies all of the time, it's natural for them to want to copy it, it just means that they are learning to care for someone and also thinking about how you care for them- it won't make him effeminate, just a strong boy who is proud to show that he can look after someone like you and your OH look after him just as I guess he copies you on the phone etc etc
Personally I hated dolls and used to pull their legs off, I was always more into stuffed toys. My brother loved them though and used to play with mine and use my toy pram etc. He is still more natural with babies than I am, it's just his nature, and he is certainly not gay!
