awwwww cos he is SOOO cute i just love them!!! so much

i am trying desperatley to show you nelson my phone is being an utter vagina!!

great name too!! MIL has Henry and Nelson, but nelson has one blue eye so i said she should have called him Bowie ( as in david bowie )

as for the food stealing.........nelson does that and has stolen a red hot beef joint straight out the oven when it was open! he burnt his lips and tongue so bad but wouldnt let it go LOL

Thanks lynette, it was very difficult for me, it felt like a mixture of joy and betrayal. I almost feel guilty for enjoying him at times if that makes sense.
I know that Bella would want me to have another companion and I have so much love to give.
I actually nibble his lovely ears they are lovely.
I love him so much already x

so glad to hear it, i can understand why it seems a double edged sword but dont feel guilty hun! bertie needs all your cuddles and mate, when he gets older and bigger bassetts give the BEST cuddles ever!!! i put my hands under nelsons ears its so snuggly!

as soon as i have kids i am getting a bassett, until then i dont have the time to devote to one! when i have kids i will go part time work and be able to have lots of snuggles!

he totally will hun! they have such soft, fat paws and are so loving and gentle!

they are just little *******s sometimes! but all dogs can be that way when they are in their first year!

i want a basset hound cuddle, if you watch when he sleeps thier cheeks puff out when they are breathing! and thier lips get stuck on their tooths all the time!

they are far too plappy for their own good!

yeah they love to talk, and grumble! when they go down the stairs all the wrinkles on their face droop forward and they kinda bunny hop lol!

Aww yeah he does, his little stumpy legs are shorter than the stair!
They really are lovely dogs.

can you see his blue eye! he is 2 this year, and has calmed down SO much

you can actually pat him without getting your head jumped on!

you should see them when they are teeny tiny! they fall over their own ears!

The problems continue!
Today I took a toy from his mouth (a child's toy not dog toy) and after I'd removed it, he bit my thumb - hard and it is throbbing. He was told off and put outside where he continued to bark loudly.
I have tried all of the mealtime tips but he is not getting any better.
He is still constantly annoying my chihuahua and her constant growling and snapping at him is grating.
Aarrrrggghhhh he's getting worse not better.
I have never been bitten by a dog, ever! x
