If I could get a coil fitted during my c section??

I dont know if its possible or not? I had a coil before and fainted and then had to have a general anaesthetic the second time as they had trouble getting it in. (Clearly Im nice and tight!! :rotfl: ) But its the only thing that suits me as I am really sensitive to the hormones in most contraception.
So it would make sense if they could do it whilst I cant feel anything down there anyway rather than having to go back in for another procedure.

But I aint sure if its possible...??

didnt relise u were having another section

i dunno but i would of said NO cos surely they would have to wait till ur system was all back to normal etc

 hmm, i wouldnt haver thought so because it takes a few days for ur uterus to shrink back into shape (even longer if ur FFing) so i wouldnt hav thought the coil would fit properly? i kno they do sterilization-sections coz my big sister had one with her last baby. but thats very drastic u'd hav to be done having kids and be 100% sure  i dont kno what to suggest! have u asked ur MW? maybe they can put coils in during sections i might be wrong. but i'd imagine they wouldnt fit. xx

I never thought about that Trix - thanks hun  I will be BF but even so my uterus will be too big i imagine. Poop. :( Ah well just means I will have to go back in a few weeks later for a general and get it done that way.

i *thought* you haf to wait until your 6 week check, minimum before you get it, at least that's what my best friend told me. i plan to get it fitted too, and she had to wait until her 6 week check up.

Nah, you have to wait. That would be awesome tho, take the baby out and pop a little coil in :D

I know you have to wait at least 6 weeks. I did ask at my 6 week check but the dr was clueless and said she'd get someone to ring me to make an appointment.

I have no idea personally but bloody hell your pregnancy has flew
