I've only gone on home tests here but if I went to the doctors, could I ask for a blood test?

Pregnancy tests they do at the doctors these days are exactly the same as the ones you do at home. They are pretty accurate.

Why do you want a blood test?

I'd read somewhere that blood tests can be more accurate

 girl how are you??

they can but only if your test are saying negative...
but if your having symptoms and you yourself had a positive then you don't need one...

Have you had a positive pregnancy test hun? If so you wont need a blood test.

If you havent...this might sound like a silly question but what is it thats making you think you are pregnant?

home pregnancy tests are very sophisticated.... Clearblue is 99.9% accurate for example. if it says you are pregnant then you pretty much are!

My doctor said that home tests were so reliable that she wouldn't do another test. If I had a positive and I had no AF then I was PG, no doubt about it!

(Didn't stop me doing another test 5 days later though)

Blood test can detect a pregnancy sooner than some pregnancy tests which use a urine sample.

It's true that the doctors accept the shop bought tests now. Most really are very accurate.

If its coming up pos, then its more than likely you'l not need a blood test. My doctors didnt even wanna see me when i found out i was pregnant, they just said we'l book you in with the midwife at 8 weeks and they took my word for it.

If it's neg some doctors still won't do a blood test but send you for a scan instead.
