We actually have THREE, yes, THREE, fully sized wheelie bins for rubbish.

Black for general household waste
Green for recycling
Brown for garden waste

Were just the same, and its easy to do. I even went to the tip today and recycled lots of glass, garden rubbish, clothes etc.

Was quite proud of myself!

Our council doesn't provide doorstep recycling for terraced areas for god knows what reason, so I take a weekly trip to the recycling containers at the nearest Tescos. The only time I didn't do that was when I didn't have a car and I felt quite guilty about it.

Yes we do.... and I am the only one in our street of 29 houses to do so!!!

We get weekly rubbish collections and fortnightly recycling and on the recyling day it is only my box that has been put out in the street

We do, if only to make our bins fit (we have 2 weekly collections!). We get through a lot of glass and cans and I'm proud that we recycle them, as well as plastic bottles and paper.

Don't know if it's quite the same thing but I don't throw old clothes or toys away (unless theyre in tatters) I always pass them on through freecycle or to the domestic violence projects at work if there are no takers on here.

We only have 2 weekly rubbish bin collections now so dont have much choice, they collect black (rubbish) bin one monday then green (recycling) the next monday... we struggle to manage 2 weeks to be honest and we recycle all that we can so I dunno how people with bigger families who dont recycle manage! :)

ditto....though I'm sometimes lazy and put cans in the black bin because I can't be bothered to wash them out
All the card, paper, plastic bottles and glass gets recycled though.

I wish they would do a kerbside collection for thick cardboard in our area.

We have 2 bins, one for normal, one for recycling. We recycle as much as we can and take things that they don't take to the banks at the supermarket - i.e. drinks cartons and glass

We have a much bigger garden at the new house so we will look into composting :D

I love recycling. I do everything I can and get an enormous amount of satifaction in doing so. It makes me proud to see my kids taking their apple cores to the compost caddy instead of the bin. And when Im at my mums I chuckle as Jessica asks her Nanna why she is put the plastic bottle in the bin and not in the recycle.

We have only paper and glass collections here, I need to take all the other stuff like cardboard, plastic etc to the centres myself. But If I didnt have the car I wouldnt be able to as the tip is in the arse end of nowhere.

Yes we do :D

We have a black box for glass jars, bottles and tin cans, a blue bag for newspapers, magazines etc and a green bag for garden waste. They all get collected fortnightly. In our cul-de-sac there are only us and next door who recycle, I just can't understand why more don't do it when it is so easy

Xxx

chap their doors and ask them? hehe, only kidding. I would love to though. But I would probably get a doing though  Yes, I think Im right.

we recycle
tins - bottles - paper and plastic, yet we still get loads of rubbish :wall:

Nope :( And I feel so bad, at home (with my parents etc) mum recycled everything... I live in a new build, and they havent brought us out recycling bin things yet - Iv been here 18months.

So I havent, though I feel awful every time I throw out a tin, or glass jar...

I WILL recycle next year!

We recycle everything.

We have 3 wheelie bins. Green for household waste, blue for paper and brown for garden. We also have a black box for glass/cans.

The only thing they don't collect is Plastic but I take it to the recycling point which is at the end of my road!

Our normal bin gets emptied every fortnight and is never full. Our paper one however is always chocka! It gets done every 4 weeks and I frequently have to heave dd in there to stomp it all down lol! and I only get the paper on a sunday! it's boxes and junk mail mostly......

I don't. We only have a chute and everything goes down it. I'd be useless at sorting it though. My parents have to recycle and I find myself asking my mum which bin things go in all the time.
