Need some advice please...... OR A SLAP LOL

Am I being too optimistic that I could start my cycle in time for my AF which is due 16th Oct??

I have been accepted for NHS funded IVF with The Oxford Fertility Unit and I have to call my chosen satellite clinic to make my first appointment. I've tried but they've had a problem with their phones today. I'm hoping to get an appointment ASAP and that we'll be all good to go for next week. Is this a ridiculous idea?

I'm also just guessing that treatment starts on first day of AF.....

We've had all the tests, so I don't think we'll need anymore?!

If we can't start this month then it won't be until January

I think it will depend on the clinic and what meds you'll be on, when your appt will be etc. My clinic aren't booking any further egg collection after the week of 17th November for this year - we're lucky to just get it (providing everything before that goes smoothly!). We had our first IVF appt a couple of weeks ago. We're in Scotland so it may be different. Fingers crossed for you that you do get a cycle in! :)

You'd probably need a consultation first and they would need to know which IVF drugs to give you and at which dose. This would be dependent on your antral follicle count and AMH blood test. Have you both had your HIV and hepatitis tests too? I think it takes about a week to order the drugs because there will be about 4 different kinds. It might be cutting it a bit fine. Do they have an email address you could try instead?

Thanks Ladies. Yes I think I am being a bit too optimistic.

Yes we've had our HIV & hepatitis tests. The hospital did those.

I just read on a different forum that you start the drugs on day 21.... I just need to chill and let it take its course and stop being so impatient!! xx

You start the pill or similar on day 1 or 2 and then the injections around day 21. So it should be easy to get the pill whilst everything else is arranged. Hope you don't have to wait!

Ive booked my appointment! Wed 22nd Oct at 11.30am. They only do a Wednesday for consultations and this was the next availabale date. I will be around CD7 then, so think out for this month. She said remind them that would ideally like to start this month though when I visit....!?!

I'm going to focus on January now and that way won't be disappointed! Also get to fully enjoy my holiday otherwise getting a BFP would be on my mind. Can't win lol xx
