I don't think they are worth the money. Rubie used hers a few times but hated it and tried to climb out so I sold it. Some babies like them but not all babies. Look for one in the paper so you get it a bit cheaper then if you don't like it, sell it on ebay, you'll probably make a profit!!
Damien loves his, and although eh only used it for a couple of months, the times he loved to just sit with us, or I'd put him on the table while we ate and let him join in, they are well worth it.
I got one of Ebay, Jack loved it but then after a couple of months tried to get out of it, could not use it upto 15months like it says.
Sold it back on Ebay and made my money back
I love ours. Iit was great for feeding Seren in, she used to sit on the dining table when we had dinner, and also was good to sit her up when she was fed up of being on the floor.
I love our bumbo, Olivia was using it from when she could hold her head up as she prefers sitting up to lying down.
I wanted to get one as I was concerned about the back of Olivia's head going a bit flat and thought this would be another "toy" to put her in where her head isn't on a hard surface.
I put Olivia in the bumbo on the kitchen worksurface (which is really wide and not slippery) when I'm making meals which has been great as it means I get more done and she's happy and now I'm weaning it's great because I can keep offering her bits of food in it as well.
I'd say get one, they have a really good re-sale value as well so you can sell it on if you don't like it/after Harley's used it.
Lucy
p.s have you seen the Bebepod? Mothercare sell them - similar to a bumbo but the leg bits are larger (we were given one for Olivia but her legs were too wee and she kept slipping backwards so we exchanged for a bumbo)
Hi Lucy its the same reason i want one for Harley because his head has gone flat at the back im using a cushion for his head at night time and in the day i want to keep him upright. also it should help with his reflux as he is always sick laying down then chokes. il try the mother care one then incase harley outgrowns the bumbo to fast. what age are they used for? im sure they say 3months? but Harleys head still bobs about a bit. still wobbles?
Hi Dionne the don't recomend them until baby can hold head up on their own for a while, but i would get one and have it in for when he is ready, i got Jacks quite late and didnt get as much use out as i could have done
i got mine from a car boot sale for £5. it is a bit sun stained as she used it onthe beach. as long as youentertain liam he is fine otherwise he wriggles until he is out. we have a paper here called the friday ad and theyare always in there quite cheap.
My best buy EVER ! they are great in my opinion..... but not all babies like them - think if harly likes to be sitting up all the time it will be great
