I wonder how other pregnant women eat during the pregnancy, I feel a bit not so normal right now , the last couple weeks I have put on rapidly weight, but also start showing way more.. I have a big problem, my OH he is very good at snacking so he always buy haribos etc  and I end up eating them aswell.. I eat meals 4 times a day and do a bit of snacking beside.. try to keep it to mostly fruits etc.. Feel constantly hungry too.. x

I do TRY to eat healthy, I usually make sure I eat a couple of pieces of fruit a day, and have lots of vegetables with my dinner, but I can't help but snack on chocolate and crisps. We tend to get a takeaway once a week, too :oooo:

I'm the same Lulu - I eat as healthy as I can and always get some veg and fruit in, but there are times when I'm mega hungry, or feeling rough and only something full of carbs or salt, like a big, fat sandwich or burger will do!!! My friend who is a midwife said as long as you're eating SOME fruit and veg, your baby will take what they need from it, and if you're really worried that your diet isn't varied enough and just can't stomach plates of veg, (I know I can't!), then take a supplement like Pregnacare when you feel you need a boost - say twice a week or something.

x

OH and I have always eaten very healthy and I haven't really changed anything. The amount of fruit and salad I manage to put away is really quite frightening lol. But I've always been that way. Everyone in my family knows that if they want fruit they have to be quick and not leave it lying about!

Veg are quite popular with me too. At the moment I'm really into purple sprouting broccoli, pak choi and spinach so I think that once I've run out of Pregnacare I'll just leave it as I think I'm getting enough vitamins in anycase ;).

I really really crave seafood, sushi and all stuff im not allowed to eat lol.. I dont crave too much sweet etc but when Im hungry I eat anything ... I really feel like lovely salads etc but my OH cant cook or even make salads and I am often too tired to start cooking in evening...x

Sushi, umm. Midwife told me not to eat it but the Food Standards Agency says sushi is fine (http://tna.europarchive.org/2010092...ov.uk/asksam/agesandstages/pregnancy/#A219865) so I decided to go with their advice instead (tasted great!). After all, they have to base their advice on research whereas the other was the opinion of one midwife who is unlikely to be perfectly informed on current food advice for all types of food. Besides just I don't believe pregnant women in Japan stop eating sushi for 9 months :D

I know , I am from Norway and things are so different over here.. the goverment says its fine to eat Sushi in Norway too, and eat seafood etc... I dont know why its so different over here... And also not supposed to eat barbecue ? Really want to eat fresh prwns on salads etc yum,...

Oh dear! No BBQ? In this glorious weather? They've got to be joking!!?
Seriously though, I can kind of understand that one. They're just trying to prevent you from eating undercooked meat. I would definitely not trust someone else's BBQ as I wouldn't know how long it's been out and how carefully they'd checked that it was cooked through. However, I'm perfectly happy to eat my own BBQ as the meat wouldn't have been sitting out for hours before cooking and I know how to check everything's well done.
