One of the items I still havent bought is a steriliser and I cant decide whether to buy one or not as Im hoping to breastfeed.........I havent bought bottles, forumula etc.

But do I need something in order to sterilise dummies, toys, etc?

Im off to Mothercare later, so any hints would be gratefully received!

I had one and I exclusively breastfed (no formula) but probably won't be digging it out for number 2! We didn't use dummies and I have never sterilised toys (don't have the time!) but I did use it to sterilise the breast pump and the odd bottle if she'd take expressed milk.

This time round, I'll probably just use Milton as it just took up space. Therefore it was a waste of money considering how little it got used.

I bresatfeed and I use mine at least once evey day to sterilise my pump and bottles because she takes a bottle of expressed milk every day from ny husband so that he gets time with her and I can have an early night if I'm really tired.

The other good thing is that I know she'll take a bottle now so I'm not as bothered about leaving her for a few hours.

I bought the avent set that had bottles, steriliser and a hand pump. I only used the pump once and it was such a pain that I went and bougt an electric one anyway so it would have been cheaper to just buy the steriliser on its own.

I used one for the pump and EBM bottles, but didn't get it in advance - you could wait and see if you need one.
I never sterilised toys
