Ok so looking for some advice.
I am 36 years old and I have a 6 month old little boy. It took us 2 years and 3 miscarriages to have him so we decided to start TTC baby number 2 straight away. We were lucky enough to fall pregnant again when our boy was 2 months old. Unfortunate we had a miscarraige at 9 weeks of pregnancy and I had a D&C.
We got results back from the test they carried out on the tissue they removed during the D&C which showed chromosome abnormalities.
I am now on my 2nd cycle since the D&C and I am 1 week late for AF, no sign of her arriving.
What's going on?
We have been TTC baby number 2 for 5 cycles now and 1 miscarraige do we have fertility issues or is it just bad luck?

When you were ttc the first time did you have fertility or miscarriage investigations then?

Yes I had bloods taken after the 2nd miscarriage and they all came back clear no clotting issues found. We were just told 2 miscarriages were bad luck. Now we have had 2 more. Surely that's just more than bad luck!!!

Michelle as you know I've had 5 miscarriages now and we've been told it's bad luck and that all investigations are normal. I've had full thrombophilia/lupus antibody screening, thyroid function, full hormones, PCOS testing and chromosome karyotyping and they can't find anything wrong. However, the PROMISE study has shown that taking progesterone suppositories from BFP may be beneficial (full results yet to be published) and on that basis, my gynaecologist has written to me and my GP to say that as soon as I get a BFP I've to start on the prog suppositories.
Maybe worth asking about?

Yes I know someone who particated in the promise trial and they now have a healthy 1 year baby girl. I mentioned this to my Consultant on several occasions and he said that there was no actual evidence that progesterone helps and that it wouldn't benefit me.

I have had all the investigations too, I was too late for the promise trial and the consultant at the RMC said there was no evidence as yet that it helps as they had just finished so results weren't back. He said I didn't need it. I have been telling them for two years that I am sure I have low progesterone in the 2WW, I ovulate but I just don't think my body does what it should do to support a pregnancy. I used to spot from as early as 5dpo. I eventually went private and have been given progesterone, I haven't had a bfp yet to see if it helps but I don't spot anymore and I can't help but wonder if my other pregnancy would have worked out if they had listened to me.
If you feel it could help you then maybe ask again, I think its very unfair that they just say its bad luck and expect us to get on with it. The progesterone makes me feel like I am at least giving a possible pregnancy the best chance xx

This is the letter I received from my consultant, it says that small scale studies have shown it to be beneficial

Thanks for that Karen. If I am lucky enough to fall pregnant again I will mention this to my GP and see what they say. As you say at least then I would feel like I am doing something positive to help give that little bean the best chance. I felt the the low dose aspirin certainly helped us get Riley here safe and sound.

I personally feel anything that can't hurt is worth a try, my gyn has also put me on aspirin, if it doesn't work out at least I know that I gave it my best shot and that I was supported by doctors xx I must say though Michelle, the gyn I saw said nothing could be done and I told her I disagreed but she phoned me a few weeks after my appointment and said she had discussed my case with her senior colleagues and they recommended that I use the progesterone xx keep pushing and hopefully someone will listen xx
