Had a full scan today at 34wk+5 just to check everything's in the right place etc. Everything's fine and average of all the measurements puts me 4 days ahead :cheer: (although they did tell me that the growth predictions are less accurate the further into the pregnancy you are - which surprised me).

Anyway, the current predicted weight of baby is already 5.5lb! Then my friend (who's a nurse) happily told me that the baby puts on 1lb a week in the last month of pregnancy?! Making mine a potential 10lb-er

I'm hoping it's just an old wives tale. Doctor didn't seem worried so  that it's a load of old baloney or baby comes early!!

Good news is, baby's head has started to engage :cheer: and it's still definitely a boy :cheer: - I saw the proof!

im not sure of the exact wieght but i no baby does put on a lot in the last weeks, i hardly had a bump a few weeks ago and now i get bigger by the day!!!!!

I thought it was about half a pound a week in the last tri, although it slows down quite a bit in the very last weeks (apparently)

I am no expert though!

Ok half a pound is not so bad, I'll try and keep off the chocolate too!

FWIW at my 34+5 growth scan my LO was estimated to weigh in at 6.4lbs  I never really worried about the scan size tbh. When he was born he weighed in at 9lb 15oz. Mine was a natural birth and the actual delivery stage only lasted 35 minutes. I worked with gravity and stood and squatted to push him out. Worked really well :)

And yup, not as accurate as baby is too large to scan properly and get decent measurements from, so don't read too much into it.

If Aimee puts on about 4lbs in the last month that will be more weight than I've put on this entire pregnancy!

i think at our stage babies put on 1oz a day - which is roughly half a pound a week...!

i remember being told its half a pound a week after your edd
and just under that for the weeks in the third tri.. :-)
its a lot when you think about it isnt it!
