Is it safe to diet and keep calorie intake to a min of 1200 per day while breast feeding?
I have cut back on my calorie intake and my milk suply seems ok I believe.

I've been to Weight Watchers while breastfeeding. I found it a healthy way to loose weight and I didn't start until lo was 8 weeks!! X

I think 1200 is definitely too low an intake personally. Remember BF uses a lot of calories and quality boobie milk is more important than loosing weight quickly xxx

Yes I agree that's too low.. I'm doing weightwatchers and you get roughly the equivalent of 1,700 calories a day whilst breastfeeding, and then another 2000 a week on too to use as you please xxx

OK wow mine seems pretty low then. I was only going on a fitness app on my phone, it was a guide to losing 2lb per week which I think is sensible weight loss. I have been eating if I am hungry tho I can't starve myself I love my food to much. But I have manage to drop a stone in 4 weeks just eating healthy not calorie counting so I wanted to keep it up. I put just over 3 stone on when I was pregnant little man 13 weeks now so felt it was time plus I have his christening in sept so feeling a little all eyes on my flabby bits, I do feel a bit under pressure! Lol thanks for your advice. Calorie intake today 1388 and I've had supper I think a little exercise might help rather then cutting the calories. X

Its too low hun. If you lose weight too quickly, toxins are released into your milk.
You need to add on at least 500 kcal on top of what mfp suggest. Search for breastfeeding under food

Tapatalking so cant see signatures

I know that slimming world do a breast feeding friendly diet plan.

You may find if you just eat healthily and exercise that your last bit if weight will drop off?

I have been lucky that I am now smaller than I was prepregnancy through bfing alone.
