Hi there,

i ahve posted this in ask a mum section, but thoguth i might as well ask here too...

did you have to pay to knwo the gender, or did they tell you at the scan?

it depends on your local health authority as to whether you can find out or not. but i don't think the ones that do let you find out make you pay for it? i certainly didn't have to - although i did have to pay for the scan photos and dvd (but not much).

They won't tell you here in Peterborough for a reason I won't go into.. but you can obviously pay for a private gender scan.

they tell you here, but I've going for a private scan friday as well just to be sure.

If your hospital send you a letter re your 20 week scan date often they will state if they offer the option of you knowing your baby's gender. Mine did but also had a disclaimer that it was only 80% accurate and they accepted no liability if the gender turned out to be incorrect.

Some hospitals choose not to tell even if asked. Its their policy and fair enough. Its only if the hospital wish to have a policy of telling parents if requested they will do so.

A private scan for gender is the option should your hospital not offer to tell you the gender.

i had to pay too , all 3 of my local hospitals dont tell , and even tho i had paid , they wouldnt even confirm !

they won't tell here so I'm gonna have to pay for a private scan

My local hospital couldnt see so I paid for a 4d scan and got told the gender there.

One of the best moments of my life knowing what my babies were!

I got told with both mine at my routine 20 week scan and didnt have to sign a disclaimer as sonographer was sure both times.
