Did my waters break this morning?

I got up to do my jab this morning and just as i put the needle into my leg i leaked so rushed off to the toilet as i felt there would be more and loads of fluid escaped then i had a pee which felt differant, got back into bed and just laid there and had some periody type cramps on and off every few mins for an hour or so and now its stopped. Before i went in the shower i sat on the loo again and more fluid came out and when i wiped it was all slimey

Called the midwife and she said to call back around lunch time, not sure what to do about my injection though as i was told that if i thought my waters had broke or i was in labour then i shouldnt have it for that day, luckily i didnt get to inject the stuff into my leg.

The pains have stopped now so we are going to the cinema to see Pirates of the caribbean.

Have my midwife appointment at 3.30 so will see what she says then.

ohhhhhh, good luck. In my antenatal class the mw said if you are unsure wear a pad for an hour then sniff it!!!! it it smells like wee then it isnt. but from what you have said i think you are sure you know what it is. keep us updated hun

Well i am back after the cinema and still running pretty much all the time.

It definately doesnt smell like wee, more like mens stuff if you know what i mean

Still not having any pain though.


Called the maternity assesment suite and going there at 4 and they are going to check then, not looking forward to that cause the midwife sounded like a right cow. Also she is saying that i will probably have to do my clexane jab even though i was told by the consultant and haemotologyst that i shouldnt cause otherwise i wont be able to have an epidural So reeeally not looking forward to that.

Another update

After going to the hospital they have confirmed that it is my waters that have broke and that i have to take my temperature this evening, tomorrow morning and tomorrow evening providing i dont go into labour before.

If nothing happens between now and Thursday morning i have to go in to be induced

Looks like i will be having a baby by the weekend! eeeeek!!!!

Whats the chances of it happening naturally do you think?

Oh it all sounds like LO is making his/her own way down and getting ready to appear. How exciting.

I reckon you will have started labour by yourself within a day and won't need to be induced.
