Depression and your baby

How do you manage to look after your baby with depression? Today is a bad day for me, I just want to lay down in bed all day and find it difficult to do anything today. thomas is a bit difficult at the moment and i am struggling to do things with him today. I have been on a higher dosage of cipralex and i think it might be the reason. Any tips on how to deal with days like this?

Dont set yourself unrealistic goals. As long as thomas is clean and fed then your doing fine. The fact you know its a bad day and are on here telling us is good.
Dont be thinking you need to do this and that and get yourself upset.

i know i dont have depression so its not really the same, but if i'm having a bad day and feeling low (you know duvet days where you just want to lie in bed and shut the world out?) the only thing that gets me up is knowing i have to look after the baby as he is helpless and depends on me...sometimes i just put him in my bed with me and he sleeps with me..but when he wakes up and i know i have to feed and change him..thats about the only thing that gets me up!
even if it is just literally dragging myself up to change him..make his bottle and then back into bed to feed him!

sorry just had to add..abviously a 10 month old is a lot different and needs a lot more entertaining..so dont take the above as advice..just saying how i manage!
