My 11month old had diorreah yesterday and today woke up really floppy and not herself took her to casualty as docs advised and had no appointments and she was dehydrated. She's home now and has had rehydration powder and lots to drink but is sleeping all the time nearly. Is this normal

I would imagine it's her trying to fight off whatever caused the diarrhoea. Slightly different, but whenever mine are ill, they want to sleep lots. As long as she's now drinking, I would think the sleep will only do her good xx

My Little boy has had diorreah for 8 weeks now! .. started as a virus now their telling me it can go on and on!.. as you can imagine im battling with my doctors and hospital. Just make sure she has her milk as normal, and try offering her water as and when. Hope is passes soon x

You can buy something over the counter, think it's called dioralyte or something similar, and I always have this in. Just in case. Only used on my kids once each, when they both had a sickness bug back in August, and they were either vomiting or pooing every half an hour!

My little girl had a bug at 9 weeks and was admitted to hospital for dehydration, luckily no drips but I was feeding her as much as possible however she slept solidly from 10pm- 9am there was absolutely no waking her. - which for a breastfeeding baby who rarely slept 20 mins outside of my arms, was unusual. I was freaking out considering they admitted her due to dehydration. I managed to feed her whilst she was sleeping a few times in the night but not much. I spoke to the nurse and she said not to worry as she's sleeping to fight off the bug. When she did wake she had a huge feed. The doctors came and said that her sleeping was great and agreed with the nurse. So I think it's quite normal hun. The nurse just said make sure they get fed once within 6 hours if they're hard to wake. Maybe if the drowsiness goes on for more than 12 hours Id probably give them a call or go back.
Hope Lo feels better soon chick.xx
