Well, I have to channel my enthusiasm for this into PF with a pointless thread :).

I can't say anything about it on FB cos it's yet another surprise for O/h's return home (10 days btw )

So a decorator started on the house today. Has one of the spare rooms papered (just a feature wall) and has made a start on the hallway. everything so far looks fabby

He's soooo reasonably priced too, chargin me £290 for the papering in my spare room, to paint the hallway which is mahoosive and to do my kitchen and sitting room.

Was worried that cause he's cheap he'd do a botch job tho I have inspected some of his work before. I'm delighted to have found someone who works so well for so little money!!! Happy days he has me as a client for LIFE .

Pointless thread ended, no need to acknowledge - princess out. x

lol thats not too expensive at all!! glad its all looking fab, OH will love it :D x

Ps I do not advocate violence on any level :oooo:

Oh thats a great price, how long will it take him and was the paint/paper extra?

I'm about to get the decorating bug myself, I just love fresh walls

:yay: that's so fab! I wish I could decorate! Cream walks are nice, just nit very practical with two babies!!

It will take probably until Wednesday, if it's finished tomoro night then it's £200. Depends on how well he gets on I suppose.
Paint/paper was extra - but I'm comparing it to o/h's auntie when she got her stuff done it was £600! He's just finishing up here but will be back tomoro for the best bit (kitchen) cannae wait!

Cream wall's aren't very practical with o/h either, very similar to having a child in the house

 fob was like that! He wouldn't think anything of bringing his bike in for the night so it stYed dry :wall:

my o/h's fave thing to do is come in filthy from working in the garden and taking his mucky boots off in the hallway whilst leaning up against the cream wall with his mucky hands! You can actually see his handprints on the wall :wall2:

It's now a light blue colour, the alcolves are a grey/blue colour and we are having a feature wall that's a charcoal kinda colour. No more cream.

The spare room (nursery to be ) is a beige colour and the feature wall is papered chocolate brown with oriental flowers on it. Me and FIL were painiting the walls ourselves and I said "George this is a good neutral colour for the nursery" he was just like

Lmao I bey he almost died on the spot  all sounds lively! I dream of the day I can havey own place and decorate it how I please!

Well the house is looking great so far. I'm loving the colours in the hallway. There's lots of angles and it's difficult (unless you are in the know) to guess if it's just shadows or different colours on the walls. The feature wall in the sitting room is now done, but sadly I have been evicted from there and am currently watching TV in the study instead which is not so comfy
