Ok I've had every kind of delivery going lol. (Apart from ventouse ) I have never laboured on my own , my babies are far to comfy and don't wish to leave.

Dd1 7lb 2 induced 14 days late, 24 hour horrific labour, and ended up in theatre and had forceps to help

Dd2 7lb 11 induced 14 days late, 8 hour labour, natural delivery no intervention and a suck on gas and air for pushing

Dd3 - 8lb 13 induced 14 days late, after 16 hour labour, emergency section as she was back to back and failure to progress, she was getting distressed with the drip.
(Absolutely hated the section - not so much the section itself, but the recovery , as my dd2 was only 19months. )

Ds1 - 9lb 2 planned section 1 week early - I had hoped to try again and have a vbac, but was advised through growth scans that baby was big, and they frown apon induction after section. seemingle induced labour can be much stronger and last much longer, which can be problematic for section scar.
I opted for a planned section. Was 100% better than the emergency.

So my decision is wether to fight for my vbac, tell them I don't want induced, to let me go over and see when baby decides to make an appearance or just book in for a planned section again. I would desperately love to have another delivery like dd2, but is that being selfish and chances are I could end up with an emergency section anyway.

If they were to let me go over, goodness know ps the size of the baby, my wee boy was 9 2 at 39 weeks, :-o

It's your choice what to do.

I am going for a VBAC. some women don't naturally fall in the 37-42week birth group and they go over to have a 43/44week pregnancy.

If you're worried about the size, they will say something and may offer a scan to check.

You can be induced using a balloon (no hormones) it dilates your cervix.

Every labour/birth is different , as you can clearly see from yours, so there's no saying that you would end up in an emergency section. They would most likely keep a closer eye on you so it wouldn't be so much of a rush if you did need to have a section again.

I would say because you want a natural birth and are questioning it that you should go for a VBAC, but ultimately it's completely down to you.

I had an emergency section with my first and with my second they were pretty flexible about how he would be delivered. I had two vbac appointments with the midwife and consultant to discuss all the options.

I was advised like you an induction following a c-section wasn't the best idea. They did say that I could have my waters broken and be put on the hormone drip, but this is what I had with my first and it was actually the hormone drip that caused all the problems so I decided against any induction! When booking my section, they also let me choose the date to an extent. If I had wanted to, I could have waited until 42 weeks before my section was booked. I decided to have it at 39 weeks personally because of how much I was struggling with a large baby etc.

I had a kind of birth plan, which was section booked for 39 weeks. If I went into labour before then on my own I would have a go at having him on my own. If I wanted to I could have rung up saying I'm in labour but have a section booked and come in that day for what would technically be an emergency section. It decided against any induction so if there was any reason why I has to have him early, I wanted a section.

As it turns out I ended up in the hospital at 37 weeks with highly blood pressure so had him by section at 38 weeks.
