Hi everyone,

I recently had Day 3 blood tests done and picked the results up today. My GP said he also requested testosterone results but they forgot to do it, so I had another blood test done today for that, and will get the results next week. I am 27 and have a regular 26-28 day cycle.

My results are as follows:

LH - 5.2 (u/L)

FSH - 9.2 (u/L)

Oestradiol - <70 (pmol/L)

Prolactin - 370 (mU/L) To the left of this result it says (<630)

My GP wasn't much help when I asked what the results meant and I've found contradicting information online. I'm just wondering if someone could help me understand these results.

Thank you x

Hi again,

Did it not have the normal reference ranges written on there too?

From memory, your LH looks good, FSH is at the top end of normal so I would personally have that repeated and if still the same, look at getting AMH test.
I can't remember what oestradiol should be, I tried to Google but couldn't find correct info on that.

This may help regarding LH and FSH though xx

Hi Lisey, thanks again for getting back to me. The only one that had a normal reference range was the prolactin which said (<630) to the left of my result. After a bit of research, I too thought that my FSH level was at the top end, at 9.2. I will definitely bring that up at my next appointment. My oestradiol level is a bit confusing as it says <70, instead of having an exact number so I'll ask about that too. Thanks again for your help, it's much appreciated :) x

You're very welcome.
I'm not sure why it doesn't have an exact number, I don't know where my old results are to see what the normal ref range is or what they put for mine.
Hope the next appointment goes well xx
