Having had my cervical sweep I've had a big show and am having lots of niggly contractions but nothing concrete. My daft question is, is it still ok to have a bath and a soak? My back is killing me but I'm now scared of getting in the bath, just need some reassurance as I never had a show before

I would say so. The midwife shoved me in the bath and told me to relax when I was in labour after having a show. So I guess its ok. Best see what the other girls say before taking my advice though lol

YEs it fine to have a bath after a show. They only tell you to be careful once your waters have broken. You have to check with a midwife first.

Dont they say a bath is sposed to help to bring on the contractions too?

I'm getting awful backache, glad to hear its a good sign. :D

Hey hunnie, sounds like things are slowly happening for you. My friends midwife told her if you get a bath in the early stages of labour it can slow the contractions down but if you get one in the later stages or are 5cm dilated or more it will help speed them up......I've been getting loads of baths but find a hot water bottle feels nice too.... hope you'll soon be holding your LO....

yes i do too!
it ill be a relief to all of us :rotfl:

hunnie you shouldnt use a hot water bottle coz it can overheat baby,
thats why you only have warm baths not hot during pregnancy..bubba gets hot easily!

hmmmm didn't know that about the hot water bottles...maybe i won't do that anymore then... :)

claire are you still here? :rotfl: :rotfl:

have u tried raspberry leaftea?

:rotfl: Oh budge I do love your sense of humour....OF COURSE I'M STILL HERE..... :rotfl: Yep being on raspberry leaf tea for weeks!!!!

Any news yet miracle babe? Hope things are moving along for you....you're having another sweep today aren't you?

Yep having my 2nd one around 12ish, really hope it gets things moving. I've been on flammin raspberry leaf since 34 weeks, top dose too. My MW says it doesn't bring on early labour just gives you an 'efficient' labour, whatever that means  My idea of efficient is bloody fast so hope its been worth it.
