D&C

Hiya,
I'm on antibiotics for Endometritis (think i've spelt it right!), and am having a scan next week to see if anything has been 'left over' inside.
If there is i have to have a D&C.

Anyone else had this?
Is it s general anesthetic?
Will I have to stay in hospital over night?

Any advice apreciated!!

I had one about 17months ago...

I had to starve myself for about 8hrs before. I went to the hospital early in the morning and after a few false starts (because the surgeons kept getting called away to emergencies and so they couldn't start until they were ready - which they did link me up to a drip for because I was getting dehydrated) they placed a tablet internally to dailate the cervix. after about an hour they then wheeled me into the operating theatre and used general anesthetic to knock me out. A few hours later they were bringing me back around. They offered me some tea and toast and kept me another 2hrs for monitoring and then discharged me

I was perfectly fine apart from finding it a bit tight and uncomfortable passing stools for the first week - but not other pains and could wee fine

yehh wen i had 1 in may it was exactly as Noor~ul~Usman described hun except 4 the stools bit im sure u will b fine hun!!1 xx

I had one on Friday, same as above except i didn't have the tablet inserted first, i couldn't have anything to eat or drink 6 hours prior to going to theatre but i was back up on the ward after an hour and home after 2 hours. Everything feels ok, i'm not bleeding at all, i would agree with the stools comment, just feels a bit weird and my stomach feels a bit tight but other than that i feel no different. Good luck x

I feel a lot better knowing hat I should be home the same day.
I've never had a GA though - so that's a little scary.

Hopefully the scan will be clear!!!!
