d&c

o and also my doc said it lowers our chances to 40% just by having a d&c...i dont want any of this garbage

I agree with the others, this cannot be true. I have had 2 D&C's and haven't had any problems concieving since. I don't believe that my chances of concieving after were 20%. I've read that there's a SLIGHT risk of your chances of conceiving reducing with invasive surgery, but I'm talking like 0.1%. Look on the internet for information on concieving after miscarraige, it sounds more reliable than speaking to your doctors. Also, alot of the women on here who have had experiences of 1 miscarriage or more and alot have gone on to have healthy pregnancies, including myself. Surley it would be more reassuring to listen to their opinions rather than Doctors and their statistics - they seem very inaccurate.

well you also have to remember im in the states...it seems to me like the doctors here are much more abrupt then the doctors you guys have there. my own older sister developed endemetreosis from a dnc proceedure, so i know this is true. and i tried to report my doctor and since she has malpractice insurance up the bum i cant touch her with a ten foot pole

Sweetie whether you are in the states or outer mongolia, it doesn't make what your doctor is saying true, however abrupt they are, sounds a right bitch TBH

I found this for you hun, i hope it helps some

I Had a D&C - Will This Cause Any Problems?

A D&C (dilatation and curettage) or evacuation is carried out to reduce the chance of infection and ensure that you don't continue bleeding over the following weeks. Very rarely, it can cause infection of the womb lining with persistent loss or an offensive odor. We believe that the chance of this is less likely than had you not undergone a D&C. If this happens it usually responds well to a short course of antibiotics. The D&C doesn't weaken your cervix or make you more likely to miscarry in subsequent pregnancies.

Thats complete and utter crap im sorry!

Some women have had a mixture of terminations and Miscarriages and still go on to conceive quite healthly.

God the doctors over there seem like twats!

Did they give you any leaflets regards your d&c?

Its basically done to make sure all particles from the pregnancy are removed from the womb using a method called d&c (Dilatation and curettage) stuff you may not of already bled (Im unsure if you did bleed).

Let us know how it went, things will be fine

x

well i guess everything went fine..i only saw my doctor for 15 seconds and hour before surgery because as she put it, she needed this thing to be no more than 30 minutes because she was needed more in delivery and labor, which made me feel completely terrible.
at least the nurses were nice to me, getting me whatever i wanted, food, drink, warm blankets to subside pain.(anyone who tells u a d&c doesn't hurt is lying!!!) last friday and yesterday were the worst days of my entire life
