cyst :(

Hi guys, Went for scan for right hand pain today and doc phoned me after with the results. (had this pain for 2 months) I have quite a large cyst on my right ovary 5cm! getting further investigations but they may want to remove it because they said its quite a complicated cyst. I can't believe it I'm in shock! anyone else suffered from these. I would love to here your story or any feedback with what to expect. This was not the news I wanted Looks like ttc is a long way off for me now! All bloods last week came back normal.

Hi Hun, I have just had a very large ovarian cyst removed 18cm! Mine was actually discovered at my 12 week scan, I had no symptoms and no idea I had a cyst until they spotted it.
Mine was fluid filled rather than complex. It was removed laparoscopically 3 weeks ago today and I'm starting to feel pretty normal again.
I was surprised that I had conceived with such a large cyst, when I asked I was told fertility can be affected slightly but I'm proof it's possible. (for the type I had at least!)

I had a cyst caused by endometriosis, its called an endometriomas. I had mine removed by laparoscopy a couple of months ago, it was spotted aboyt 2 years ago on a scan so it was a long time before they operated but they weren't concerned about it.
Did they say what type of cyst it is? Hope you get some help and are able to ttc soon x

No they haven't actually said what type of cyst it is. waiting for an appointment with gynaecologist for within the next two weeks so hopefully I'll get more info. It was a shock to here but it's sinking in now and trying not to worry ha ha.
It's good to hear that there is still hope

Pinbadge did u get any symptoms after you had it removed? ( can't believe 18 inches! didn't realise you could get them that big) Thanks for your reply

Hi, they were very surprised I had no symptoms and no swelling at all. We went on honeymoon in August and there are pics of me in a bikini with a flat tummy! It was sort of oval shaped and had got up under my ribs on the right side and was touching my bladder and right kidney. When I think about it I was suffering with heartburn and needing the loo a lot which I put down to pregnancy but I suppose could have been the lack of space in there!

I had a fair bit of pain after the op but it was a relief to have it removed as given the size they were concerned about it rupturing. Apparantly cysts are very common, some even go away on their own so they may choose to do watchful waiting and scan again in a couple of months to assess change in size. Hopefully you will know more soon but if you want to ask anything ask away! I did a fair bit of research (obsessing) over the past month! Xx
