Cycle day question

I'm due on my period on Saturday but this morning I had bright red blood when I went to the toilet. There is no change I'm pregnant.

Could this just be a bit of spotting, or is spotting always brown?

I'm a bit concerned that I'm having a short cycle, as we've worked out when we can start trying perfectly for our cruise and if I have shorter cycles it may push us over the edge of the sail dates so we might have to put TTC back a month or possibly up to three months with other things going on in our lives

Some women still bleed red when pregnant. I'd do a test.

Some women still bleed red when pregnant. I'd do a test.

The bleeding has stopped now... if I don't get my period by the end of the weekend I will do a test, however we haven't been trying - we do use the pull out method and then condoms so I suppose there is a very slight chance that I might be pregnant, however we've used this method for years so the chances of it failing now we're talking about having a baby seem quite slim. I'll still wait until I'm late though as even though it would mess up our holidays plans we'd both be over the moon if I was, I think even just doing a test expecting it to be negative would just get both of our hopes up and really disappoint us if it turned out it was just an odd spotting.

I have been really emotional today, cried over something that usually I would have been annoyed about but would have been able to handle. But that could be both a pregnancy symptom or PMS... I haven't had any other symptoms that I don't usually get before my period

Could it have been an implantation bleed? It's odd to get red blood before AF.

It could be, if it is it'd be too early to show on a test anyway I think.

I'm still expecting my period to just come a little earlier, I wouldn't be surprised if it came in full flow tonight or tomorrow. My boobs are really sore, I'm bloated and I feel really moody.

I guess you'll just have to wait...I find a hot bath gets things moving, or iron.
