My ex husband has CSA arrears of over £4000. About 6 months ago I was told that they were prosecuting him and going to put a charging order on his house. Obviously it takes a while to sort out court dates etc so it is a long slow process.

Last week my son told me that his Dad's house has now been repossessed and they are living at a family friends house.

I am very confident that the house has about £10-£15k equity and I'm sure my ex husband will end up with that amount but I was wondering is that it now? do I kiss goodbye to any arrears? will he just end up with the equity sat in his bank account and the csa won't be able to touch it? if that happens he'll just blow it on drugs and beer faster than it takes the csa to try and get arrears out of him.

It's so frustrating! this ******* "man" has never given me a penny for the kids, never bought them Birthday/Christmas presents and spends all his money on coke (not the liquid variety) and beer, I'm not suprised he has lost his house at all!

I know I should have some sympathy that he has lost his home but I have none, he is such a c*nt and this feels like he has just got away with his responsibilities once again!

Why do the *******s prosper and the honest. normal people struggle day in day out.

If anyone knows anything about repossession or csa arrears I'd like to hear what you think could happen next please x

So did they not manage to put a charge on the property before it was repossessed? x

Awww poo :(
If its still going to court I'd say that you're in with a shout, especially if he's just got the money sitting in an account. Obviously if he spends it that's a problem :hugs: x

I reckon he will just withdraw it all at the first available opportunity. Oh well, I guess I should just be lucky I'm rid of him, money ain't everything x

Tapatalking so can't see sigs :(

If it's repossessed I think you loose any capital you put into the house unfortuantly so not sure he would have any money too actually give you? Sorry xx

Yeah I was thinking the same but when I sat down and did my calculations I do think he will still end up with some cash as there was originally quite a bit of equity. The only way I'm wrong is if he has remortgaged without my knowledge or not made any mortgage payments for so long they have added up to so much that they will swallow the equity :(

I know nothing about equity or CSA really hun..
But my mum at the beginning didnt go through the CSA but came to an argreement of what my dad should give her( alot less that what they would of made him) this didnt last long and he stopped claiming she was spending it on herself and not us... LIES!
She had the same issue as you chasing for money off my father! FOR YEARS!
She didnt manage to get any off my dad towards me or my older brother. For years my dad pretended not to work, he was doing odd jobs and the most annoying thing was my older brother new ne was working and never told my mum! And when he got his job back dwn the steel works my brother kept that from my mum aswell!!

TBH my dads a waste of space! I only bother with him now when i see my half brother and sister, or try and get some money out of him for stuff (making up for the 10yrs he paid sod all for)

I cant imagine how much stress your going through! My mum was a right mess at times love her, she ran up debt of catolugues so we wouldnt go without at christmas times etc, re mortgaging to fix things and pay for bills. All cos my bloody dad wouldnt pay..
She managed to get him to pay some arrears towards my younger sister and brother, No way near what he should of tho!

Hope u get to the bottom on this, I bet it feels like a never ending dark tunnel!! :( xx

I think it depends why his house got re-possessed? If he has outstanding debts I think that they will be paid before he is given any money? And they also will charge fee's etc... If the CSA put in a claim on his estate then maybe some money would be given to you that way.xxx
