Crying in her sleep?

Ellie has a nap normally in the afternoon for a couple of hours, when she's napping she frequently wakes crying (opens her eyes a bit sometimes but mainly with her eyes closed) then after about a minute goes back to sleep.... is there a reason for this? I used to pick her up as soon as she started crying and she would wake up properly, but now i leave her a minute or two and see if she will fall back to sleep and she usually does....

If she goes to sleep on my chest she jumps as if shes startled, lifts her head up and looks around then puts her head down and goes back to sleep.

Any ideas why she does this?

Sounds like she is dreaming to me.

When her eyes are closed can you see if they are moving behind the eyelids?

James does this loads too.

Sometimes he laughs in his sleep too and wakes himself up which is mad cos he still doesnt laugh out load when he is awake!!!
