Hi girls, I am 35 weeks today. Last night baby spent almost two hours doing the most crazy gymnastic movements- me and my husband couldn't stop watching, we saw feet and the clear outline of legs moving up and down my tum, it was cool!
However it really felt like baby was digging deep on my cervix making me wince- at one point it must have touched a nerve or something, my left leg shot out and it was really painful. Not long after I went to the toilet and there were the tiniest smears of red blood on the tissue. Do you think the baby could have just irritated the cervix or something? There's been no blood today and no pain, baby is happily wriggling away so I'm not really worried, just wondered if anyone had experienced anything similar?

Hey! I've had movements wear the baby has moved really low and it's made me jump but I've never had any bleeding from it.

Yesterday I had a bery small bump in my car (i stupidly drove into a wall in a car park I was only going slow though) it didn't hit the bump or anything but just jolted me forward a little, when I went to toilet later about an hour later there was the tiniest bit of light pinky watery spotting on the tissue. I rang the hospital to ask if it is anything to be worried about and they said that for any bleeding (if it didn't look like mucus as it could be start of labour for me as I'm 38 weeks) that I should go in and be checked. I didn't have any other spotting but when they did the internal examination they saw some water on my cervix so they took a swob just encase it is an infection or my waters leaking.

I would call hospital just to be safe as I'm glad I did as I wouldn't have known that anything was different down there and they just took a swob to see if I have an infection xx

I agree, any blood. Even the tiniest amount should be checked. Very late on in pregnancy with my son I had some light bleeding and they were keen to check me over xx

I asked my midwife this week about any bleeding etc in the last few weeks of pregnancy. She said that anything pink beige brown or less than a teaspoon is perfectly normal. Your cervix is softening and tiny blood vessels burst as you are so vascular atm especially down there.

She said anything fresh... We're talking fire engine red blood and a teaspoon or more then call triage and go get checked out.

It sounds like some of your plug may have just dislodged which can be like discharge and doesn't always have to be jelly like. The plug replaces itself so don't worry too much.

If you aren't happy (and you know your own body) and you aren't comfortable with not knowing ring your hospital antenatal ward. They should have a midwife who can either put your mind at rest over the phone or she'll ask you to pop in where they'll monitor baby for half an hour and check you out down there if you're comfortable with that.

Good luck x
