porscia is now having a go at crawling...the only thing is we have wooden flooring in our living room and our living room is quiite small ...any ideas of anything i ccan buy where she will be safe when crawling.. at the moment we have to keep an eye that she does not bang her head.... also.. during the nite she moves a lot in the bed.... and bangs her head at the end of the cot which wakes her up... we doon't have a bumper on the cot as i was told they could come off and suffocate the baby.. any other ideas on what we can put at the end of the cot to stop her banging her head?

Emms hasnt started yet, but I thought i would get a large playmat and maybe a playpen as well to put toys in, so that I can walk into other rooms etc. We also have a dog, so it will be extra helpful to keep the dog and Emms seperate.

You can get safety packs from Tescos which include plug socket covers etc. I am going to get some door gates too.

Hope it all goes well . .

i bought a rug from wilkinsons for £30 and i put a blanket over it. he hates being on his front though. so think he will be about 5 before he crawls

i have the same problem with my laminate floor and an adventurous wannabe-crawler baby.

Im probably going to get one of those large foam play mats (seen them at tescos and on ebay). But for now Im using a double quilt (folded in half) and sitting next to him supervising him. He loves floor time and because he can't actually crawl yet, but rolls around mainly, the quilt is ok.
