I have no idea.. people keep saying maybe she is teething.. she is only almost 3 months, and today has been crying almost all day, very fractious and wanting to feed nearly all the time. Normally she has quite a lot of play and smiles during the day. She sometimes has been crying recently and we can't work out what it is. She does have rosy cheeks sometimes, but usually during/after a feed. I can't see anything coming through really and felt her gums the other day -I thought I felt a slight bump, but not a 'ridge' as I have read. Her gums don't look red either. So I have no idea.. any thoughts or better ways to tell?

Many thanks in advance!

Definitely can be, my little girl is 11 weeks and has been teething for past two. She is drooling constantly, shoving her hand in her mouth, rosy cheeks and had a few days last week where she was inconsolable and only Calpol calmed her down. My health visitor agreed it was teething. There is a lady at one of my classes whose little boy is same age and he is as well x

I've not found a sure way of telling whether it's teething until the little white tooth pokes through. It certainly can be teething - my niece started at around 3 months old and is already cutting a molar at 9 months!!! Crazy.

My boy is 16 weeks and I'm 99% sure he's teething
It can start from 3 months, some babies are even born with teeth!
A few people have told me their LOs were showing signs for months before one actually came through.

My little one is 15 weeks and i can see a bit of white underneath the gum (saw yesterday) but i would say she has been teething for last couple of weeks..poo was different lots and lots of drool, hand lives in mouth and a couple of calpol moments. So yes i think it sounds like teething to me

My lo has lived with her hand in her mouth since abiut seven ir eight weeks. Eighteen nkw and no sign of any teeth. Shes drooling more now so i expect theyre on their way now. Thr fist chewing is a developmental thing though so not a sign of teething alone x

Honestly I got fed up of people telling me LO was teething every time she put a hand in her mouth or cried. She chewed on her fist and drewled like crazy for months with no sign of teeth. She got her first tooth at 5.5 months. Some of the time it probably was teething going on under the gums but I never found out a way to tell either.

The problem with teething isn't cutting the tooth through the gum, that's painless.

The problem is before the teeth come through, they move around and up and down in the jaw line, causing vibrations through the jaw and skull bones, which I'm sure you can imagine, probably ain't too comfy, poor lil things.

She may well be teething, just, not actually cut a tooth for a while.

If she's feeding so much, could just be a growth spurt? They have one around twelve weeks if I recall.

If you haven't already, download the wonder weeks app. It shows a chart for when the developmental stages occur, and when baby is most likely to be a grump. Xx
