Contraction timing?

Ok so i no iv already had a baby but i never really timed my contractions :/ oops lol so How do you time contractions?

From the start of the contraction to the end? and from the end to the next contraction? or different? Im so confused lol x

You time them from start to finish so how long they last for, then time that space in between so how long your not contracting for till another one starts. So for example your contractions can last for 50 seconds every 4 mins. Hope that makes sense x

Thanks yea that does make sense i never really understood it and when i went into labour before my mum was on the phone to them and i dont think they asked how far contractions were lol x

That's another thing to add to the list... A watch for dh so that he can time them x
