Constipation Pain - No Its ROund Ligament Pain

I woke in the night with a really horrid stabbing pain in my left side (not IBS pain which I get regularly, this was more in my pubic bone region), after a few minutes the pain went and I was able to go back to sleep.

Howver this morning I had the pain 2 more times, and this time it actually made me dizzy as the pain was so intense, and I had to kneel on the floor until the pain subsided, it was agony - a very sharp stabbing pain, which made the whole area feel swollen and bruised.

Not long after the 2nd episode of pain, I rushed to the toilet having been really constipated all morning and managed to finally "go" and immediately after I felt like the bruised feeling had gone!

Do you think the pain might have just been due to constipation? I was going to call the midwife, but have felt fine ever since going to the loo this morning! Anyone else suffered similar pains (absolutely typical as this happened a few minutes after i posted how wonderful I was feeling on Baby&i thread )

Ok i wake up every single morning without fail in agony. Mines more on the right side but its all round the middle and in my back.
It could be related to needing the loo, this has eased similar sorts of pains for me.
But they told me the pain im gettin in the night is due to the way the baby is laying. Could be on a nerve or something but when i get up, the pain subsides within a few minutes. Yours could be the same? When we get up baby moves and could move off the nerve.
See how you are tomorrow morning if its the same its probably the same as me.

Hope you feel better soon, if its the position baby sleeps in speak to the midwife/docs about lying in different positions.

It could well be constipation. i know i get sore when ive not been, but its not as bad as you have described.

i used to get really horrible pains like that which eased about 25 mins after going to the loo

Will give the MW a call a little later, as was agony again this morning, and couldnt stand up when I got out of bed..........I now have that bruised/sore feeling back again which seems different from the initial pain!

Finally got to speak to the MW and after some discussions with her colleague they both think its a bad case of round ligament pain.....she did say it can be so bad it takes your breath away which would tie in with the pain I have had!

Anyone else been suffering with this, its absolutely horrid and leaves you feeling quite bruised and sore!

Yea I get round ligament pain when I get out of bed, or even when I just change sides in bed
It really hurts for a few seconds, but eases off and dissapears. Its like a really bad stitch to me, and takes my breath away.
Yet another fun part of pregnancy lol

thats exactly how i describe mine like a really bad stitch i got stuck in the bath with it on my last pregnancy was led down washing my hair and the pain was so bad i couldnt get back out was stuck there for over an hour till gaz came home from work that was the worst though it usually only lasts for a few minutes xxxx
