Hello ladies I got bsby and hubby snoring away while im sitting here wide awake in my hospital bed lol. So heres my labout story!
At 39+5 I had my consultant appointment and he gave me a sweep. Had some shows and on and off pains for a good few days but nothing major. On sunday 15th (40 +3) I was in a fowl mood snd fed up and went bingo with my mum hoping the adrenaline would start some off lol. I had a sweep booked for that Monday anyway.
We did bingo etc and got home at about 10pm. I had 4 really powerful contractions and I remember saying these def dont feel like fake ones and then they dissappeared! Just my luck. So did my usual pee trips all through night. Wake up at 4am Monday morning. Turn to get off bed. Stand up and gushhhhhh. Lots of clear and gloomy liquid comes out. Rush to the loo and yes waters had gone!! I jump in bath but contractions started straight away- I kid u not. By the time id had a bath and got out etc we started timing them. I kid you not -every 1.5 mins at 30 seconds . I call labour ward. They tell me to come down. We go straight there but contractions coming thick and fast. They don't even send me to triage go straight in .They come and examine me and Im 6 cm. By the time they potter around im in real pain and ask for pethidine. So they wonder off and go get it. In mean time I feel like pushing on contractions. So she checks me again and im 8-9 cm and they wont give me pethidine even though I can see it in the syringe!! I keep getting urge to push and im screaming in the gas and air. Get to 10 cms but baby head high. I push for an hour. Docs finally come and check and prep me for theatre. Basically they want me to have a spinal block to check baby and also decide what to do. Omg it was heaven lol due to baby being so high emergency section. She comes out and just like her brother -wasnt breathing. Alarm goes off. I get de ja vu all over again . Baby docs run in, then I hear a cry!! She was ok!!
8lb 2 oz 10.46 am. I think the midwives said I was hyper stimulated because of the contractions being so frequent etc. Bloody bloody hurt!! But my gorgeous daughter is here!! ; ) so labour was about 7 hours but I reckon id been in slow labour on and off before waters broke. Also if shed xxome out naturally she ded would bhave been earlier too! Xx
