Hello everyone,

Just wondering if anyone else had experienced this. I am getting a lot of headaches which last hours at a time. I know it's not my blood pressure because this has always been low and it was tested on Friday at the hospital. I'm also really careful to eat and drink loads and take daily vitamins (so don't think it can be iron) but it doesn't seem to stop it. I know it can be due to hormonal changes but I'm 20 weeks now and I think it should be dying down now?

Thanks :)

I'm suffering with horrible headaches too but I think they are a normal part of pregnancy. I just make sure I'm drinking loads of water and have a couple of cups of tea a day because I think my body suffered with me cutting caffeine out completely.

I haven't had them constantly but when they do come it's awful :( but drinking plenty of water seems to ease it x

Also consider things like caffeine intake or lack thereof, sugar levels and sleep? Or if you've changed your diet or perhaps even the vitamins might be giving you some headaches? Do they seem to come at a certain point in the day?
If they're always constant and painful then see the doctor again. I've always suffered with migraines so I feel you. Hope they subside soon!

I've had a fair few this pregnancy. Didn't have any with my first and don't tend to fed headaches in general. I've had the odd one that's been so bad that I've just had to lie in a darkened room and eating makes me feel sick. My BP is also fine, but I do wonder if I drink enough. I'm a teacher, so don't drink a lot as I can't really just get up and go to the toilet.

Thanks everyone and good advice. I am trying really hard to drink lots but I always seem to get them in the mornings, maybe because my room can be hot and stuffy?

I have cut out caffeine completely apart from a bit of chocolate now and then since before starting IVF in March so surely can't be withdrawal still. They are not terrible just not a typical thing for me at all.

Hi Annica,

I've read headaches are pretty normal during the whole of pregnancy due to hormones! Cutting out caffeine can give you a massive headache though due to withdrawal symptoms.

Have you tried fresh air, like evening walks? They sometimes help me :)

No harm popping along to your doctor for reassurance if you find you have a headache almost 24/7, but I'm pretty sure everything sounds normal and you sound lovely and healthy.
