Ok so I have read that you cannot have a bath once our waters have gone, but how come you can still use the birthing pool in the hospital then?!?

I didn't know you couldn't have a bath?

The hospital encourage it in the low dependency suite I thought?

I asked my midwife if I go into quick labour and have to have baby at home can I get in the bath and she said yes

Oh right? I am even more confused now then

Not heard that we can't have one. I still reckon they tell you to have a bath in early labour cos they increase their chances of not having a stinky mummy to deal with lol

i think it depends on exactly when your waters go. i couldnt have a bath or be examined because my waters had gone hours before i was in established labour and i dont think they would have let me use the pool either in that case but they do encourage you to have a shower instead

My waters went as I hit established labour they told me to try stay at home and have a bath but I went to hospital for pain relief. I was 4 cm when I got there and they also ran me a bath.
