Hi, my name is Lisa and I am 8 weeks pregnant with my second child. During 4th to the 6th week I had a severe heart and chest pain, major difficulty breathing, heart rate was between 90 and 100 beats per minute, even to the point that i went into a shock and had low blood pressure 80/40 and had to be brought with an ambulance to the emergency. Even though my blood results were fine and the doctors didn't find anything to pin it on, i suspected that it was due to the medicine my gynecologist prescribed me and i was taking for about 10 days prior to that day. The medicines are Adiro 100 (I live in Spain so this is a Spanish brand) is a medicine that belongs to the group of medicines called antiplatelet drugs and it is used to reduce the likelihood of blood clots forming (thrombosis). I was given this for the reason that I had a miscarriage last year.. and the other one is a pregnancy vitamin Yodocefol, containing Iodine.
After the hospital I decided to stop taking both pills and miraculously after 24 hours I was a new person.. I have researched the symptoms of being sensitive to Iodine and they are very similar to what i felt. I believe that taking the combination of these 2 pills is what made me seriously ill and now i am concerned as if this might have any effect on my baby? A few days ago I went for my first scan and everything seems OK. However my doctor is suggesting that I should may be consider having a Chorionic villus sampling (CVS) or a Amniocentesis not because he sees anything but just as precaution. Could anyone please advise me on what possible effects my baby could have from the allergic reaction i had from this 2 medicines and whether i should worry regarding that I stopped taking then after 10 days..
Thank you!!
