Complicated!!

Hey all...
Complicated one...

Right i have been on full pay for 6 months for my maternity....i am at present and have been for the last 8 months full time carer to my OH that sounds really bad but helping him in and out of bed, getting dressed, general running around due to multiple ops and mobility issues.

He has recently been in hosp again and there is no way i can go back to work which i was due to in 2 weeks he has at least 6 weeks complete bed rest and not doing anything heavy.

So.....i have had to extend my maternity leave which i can i have 9 months in total but now i go to SMP....am i entitled to anything during this time? ANyone know>?

Have you asked about carers allowance? If he cannot do any of these things by himself then surely he should be getting assessed.

Im not sure who you would ask tho, it would probably be the inland revenue who would start the ball rolling.
 
You'd need to check with your emplyer - anything above SMP is based on the company's maternity policy x
