Colour hair?

Really random question.
But I wondered if anyone knew if theres a scientific thing about what colour hair your baby will have?
I have ginger hair, my partner has dark brown nearly black hair. Neither of my parents had ginger hair, Im not sure about my partner as he was adopted when he was a baby.

My son at the moment, my ex's hair was mousy brown, not dark at all and my son has ginger hair.

apperntly if if one partner carries the ginger gene it is 50/50 as to weather it will be the dominant colour so you wont know till baby born

I have dark brown hair, my OH has ginger beard and leg hair, and dark blonde head hair! (his mum is very alburn red, and his sister, has 2 out of 3 bright red haired kids)

OH and I have all blonde kids, my last has strawberry blonde at birth, it is pretty golden blonde now - although my eldest has gone a darker blonde now he is 11, the others show no sign of going darker - I do wonder what the chances of baby Devon arriving as a Red !
