Hey,
Sorry I know im over reacting, but theres a first for everything. I think my babs has a cold, sneezing with snot, souns stuffed up and a little winger than normal and more sleepy! Obviously I dont need to go docs or anything do I? just keep him warm and carry on as normal? Feel really stupid asking about this, but just worried! xx

Sorry hun, not sure but didn't want to read and run! I guess keeping him hydrated is the most important thing but if you're breastfeeding he should get everything he needs? Maybe give NHS direct a ring if you are worried?

Aww thanks Becky, im bottle feeding so will give him some cooled boiled water and see how he goes. Gona check his temp and keep an eye on that and will ring NHS direct if i need to. I think if he was really suffering he might be more upset?! x

The midwife said one of the main things to look out for is floppy limbs and grey tone to the skin, think that's when it's more serious.
Know what you mean about over reacting though, I always said I wouldn't be a mega protective mum but I never realised how much you worry about every little thing!

Thanks again! Yes the worry and responsbilty is so intense and I never understood it until I had my own! x

I understand how you feel. Tegan has a cold Atm i rung the health visitor as i was so worried. she recommend Calpol nasal spray to help her bunged up nose and just make sure she still feeds so she doesn't get dehydrated xx

noa got a cold n temperature :( bought some calpol today but have not given yet. i know what u mean tho, i called my mum that had to go trough with me what to do if it get worse. its scary to have such a responsebillaty isnt it :hugs:

Justine you won't be able to give Aiden Calpol and the nasal stuff just yet. He's too young.
I went to the pharmacist for advice and they said saline nasal drops for now and nothing else.

The Calpol nasal spray is from newborn as i went to boots and asked and Calpol is from 8 weeks xx

Thanks all, have just sent hubby to boots! You do worry, i was like hes got a cold, what should i do? what can i do etc! and im sure hes fine really! Ta Gemma I thought he may be too young for a lot of things. See what hubby comes back with xx

Really?! The bloody pharmacist told me he couldn't have anything.

Yeah the Calpol nasal spray is newborn plus it says on the leaflet its also suitable for pregnant women Which id of known that when i was pregnant as i had dreadfull Rhinititus! x

Gemma im fuming too, hubby just got back with nothing, said he couldnt have anything before 8wks. Hes going to go to tesci in his way home from work and ask about the calpol nasal spray or the saline nasal drops xx

Depends on the pharmacist, they all have different opinions. We used to have lots of different pharmacists where I worked and some of them were almost too blasé about things and some of them were really strict, would hardly sell anything! :wall2:

I got the saline drops on prescription. The midwife sorted it out with the doctor and I picked it up.

Was told if his nose is still stuffy to put a wet towel on the radiator or a bowl of water to make the room moist. I've also been taking him in the bathoom when Shaun is in the shower and the steam tends to help.

Thanks Gemma, this will explain why both boots and tesco have said we cant give him anything. Will see how he is tomorrow and book docs if it has to be done through perscription! Will try the flannel and steam etc, to be honest he blocked up and sneezing a lot but it doesnt seem to be bothering him x

Oooooo I second wet towel on rad with obus oil if newborns can have that I still use this on my daughter and she has a full nights sleep with this method! Good luck I know they do a kids kavol plug in too!? X x

Ooh yes the plug in! I remember that from when my little sis was born 17 years ago.

I'm going to try the wet towel tonight.
