Jacob only sleeps on his tummy, whether he is with us or not. We put him to bed in his cot (on his tummy) until we bring him into our bed (he rolls all over the place otherwise). We have tried over and over to have him inbetween us, but the only time he falls asleep that way is when I feed him. He'll sleep on his side for a short time then wake up very upset and need to be taken onto one of our chests. We love this, but he is getting big fast (he is already the size of his 11 month old cousin) and it can be VERY sore sometimes. It is only going to get worse! I want to keep co-sleeping, but I am worried about having him tummy down in our bed. Can anyone suggest ways to get him to sleep between us? He just gets hysterical at the moment... Or he'll wake right up and start doing angels in the snow movements, grunting and groaning as he tries to sit up and otherwise be hyper and excited!

oh i don't know. I haven't had that problem. With Amelia when she comes into bed with us and feeds, she'll fall asleep on her side, and then if I want to move slightly I'll put her on her back. She's never slept on her front, though she is fully able to lift her head up by herself.

I don't know what to suggest, sounds like he's super comfy on his front, and I did hear that once babies start to roll around on their own and put themselves on their front, they are ok to sleep on their front. That's the rule I've gone by.

Sorry I can't be of more help

That's okay, thanks. He is able to roll around, but when he's between us he can't because we're in the way. I don't know why I feel uncomfortable with it, really... I just do!
