We went shopping today and got some clothes but hubby was insisting on buying 0-3 months old clothes rather than newborn. He pointed out he was a big baby and it did look that at 26 our little munchkin was already putting on fat.
I think my husband was born 21 inches and nearly 12 pounds!

I would buy a couple of babygro's or outfits in new born as they go upto around 9lb but i wouldnt buy to much as they grow out of them rather quick hunny x x

Maybe see a couple of weeks before if baby seems really big, you might still need a few newborn things for a week or two! Your hubby was a big baby! I'm a little worried my baby could be long/ big as my hubby is 6ft 5! Difficult to know what sizes to buy!

I did get an outfit in newborn just in case for coming home, but husband was insisting we buy the rest in 0-3, i guess with his genes its probably sensible. Also don know what to buy for September- i e cardigans ot something a bit warmer? I have 1 light cardigan that comes in a 8 piece set and thats it.

Yes, mine is 6'3 and he was a bit baby, its making me:shock:, he was induced at 42 weeks though. Can they actually guess the size of the baby at all?

Think the midwife can feel baby at the last few appointments but they don't always get it right! Another option would be to buy newborn stuff but don't take labels off, then change them, long as you buy them close to your due date you should be able to change them ok. You could go a couple of weeks early as well remember then baby would be quite a bit smaller!

we haven't brought at lot in the way of clothes because we have no idea how big/small our little man is going to be! we have literally 4 vests and 3 baby grows in newborn, and the rest is all 0-3! mainly because both me and OH are above average hight and my dad and lil bro are both over 6ft! arms can always be folded up on 0-3 and having room in the legs isn't a bad thing as they will have more room to stretch ect! we're planning on getting more stuff once he's here!

I have bought some newborn and some 0-3 months also things from next and m&s i hve bought up to 1month with is a bit bigger than newborn. Have been looking at the weights more as the sizes in different shops vary quite alot, newborn sizes in the supermarkets seem to be up to 9-11lbs but in next/m&s they are smaller 7-8lbs. I really need to go though all the clothes we havebeen bought/given as it has all been shoved in a cupbourd at the moment and no idea if we have enough in each size! x

I was asking my friend about this, she had her baby a few months ago, he was 8lb and she never used her newborn clothes!

I bought all 0-3 with AJ. He was 8lb 1oz and I had to send someone out for newborn stuff. He was in newborn for weeks 0-3 swamped him :)

Madison was 8lb1 and we only bought 0-3 but i had to send my mum out for newborn as they were huge, she was in newborn for a full month xx

We orginally brought 0-3 as advised by my mum however a few weeks before Isabelle was born we did buy a couple of sleepsuits and babygrows in newborn which she wore for the first 2 weeks then she was in 0-3 she was 8lb 2oz when she was born, she is now 4 months old and some of her clothes are 6-9 months and they fit her!!!
