Clomid Question

Hey Girls

Been reading up a lot on Clomid since being diagnosed with pcos, and I was wondering can a GP prescribe you this or do you have to wait to see a fertility specialist?

There is a lot of conflicting information on the web, some say your GP's can others say they cant.. was just wondering if anyone knew x

Hope you're ok!

I know that the docs can definitely prescribe it but what I don't know is whether they can prescribe it when you have PCOS.

I would assume so though as it helps you to ovulate, I think there are other hormones you can take to kick start your periods but I can't remember what they are called....

Christ that was like reading my life at the moment, I could associate with almost everything they spoke about!! Thanks for the link Maybe.

I have read about Metformin being prescribed to induce a period, personally I think I would rather have the clomid as this can almost guarantee you ovulate.

I am just hoping that I dont have to wait months to see someone to get it .... That is after I convinced my GP that I need it first!! Poxy NHS!!

I can get Clomid prescribed from my doctors if it shows that I am not OV from my bloods

Thanks Bonny, I am hoping my GP can prescribe it they never mentioned anything about seeing a specialist on my previous visits ... just got to convince them now that is the hard bit!!
