Hi ladies, after another embryo has failed to stick we're not sure what we're doing next.. maybe take a couple of cycles off but maybe throw myself back into trying again? No idea yet!

Anyway.. was wondering if anyone has used the Clearblue Advanced Digital Ovulation Test Kits?
Ordered some in a moment of desperation a few days ago.. no idea if they'll make a difference since we're usually covered over enough days each cycle. But whatever I guess they're already being delivered any day now.

How do they work? It hasn't arrived yet but the pack I ordered has 10 tests and from what I was reading online it sounds like you pop the test sticks into the digital base when you test to get your readings?

Now I don't think I'm going to need all 10 tests over one cycle as I roughly know when to test and will probably use cheapies to start with. So does the battery last long? How many cycles? Wondering if I can use it over a few cycles as it was so expensive!

Any experiences? I've only ever used cheapie opks.
Thanks xx

I use the monitor that detects 4 high fertility days. Not sure if yours is the same? I like mine has it gives me flashing smiley faces when I have high fertility and 2 solid smiley faces when I’m at my peak. You just pop the stick into the base do the sample and let it lie flat. Soon after you will get a reading. The circle means not fertile yet. My only issue was some cycles I went straight to peak fertility without the flashing smiley faces. Good luck xxx

Hiya if you bought the one that gives you high reading as well as peak than you should start on the day it says you should. As it needs to see a chance in your hormones. For example the month I started to test late it jumped to peak as it didn’t get a chance to pick up my estrogen rise. I now bought the fertility monitor instead as I couldn’t get pregnant with the sticks.

Yes that’s the same as mine. Think mine lasted 3 cycles xx

Okay thanks Liz xx

Probably won't help us in anyway but whatever I guess!

I use the same holder each cycle, as its supposed learn your levels. I have used the same holder for over a year and battery fine, I also use the cheap opk and they always match the clearblues. they are expensive but boots do 3 for 2 sometimes so worth stocking up then xx

I think I used these when I first started with opks. Don't think I'd even heard of cheapies at that time lol!! For me, as I have regular cycles, I'm trying to get away from opks as they don't tell me anything I don't already know. The fact I actually ovulate is about the only thing I have any confidence in!!

I know what you mean, I temp as well and can pretty much predict my ovulation date. the fertility clinic told me to stop with the all the ov tests and temping but I like the confirmation that I am ovulating every month!

Batteries in mine lasted two cycles each. Not bad considering the 30 test packs were on offer for a tenner each so I bought a few and tested every day!

I found them really helpful. Xx

Have you thought about a Ovusense? I got a BFP with mine 5 times :)
Well worth it, It was actually a god send

I read the batteries last 6 months. I didn't know you could reuse the holder cycle to cycle so I threw my first 2 away! You put test in and then dip it in wee. I got into a tangle one month with estrogen brain where I forgot to put the test into the holder before dipping it and ended up speaking to a very patronising woman on the CB customer help line.

I got positives on CB a day before I did on the cheapies! I think they are very good.

I think they're very good as well sunflower.

I have actually stopped using them though because of the expense and after years of monitoring my cycles I pretty much know when I'm going to ovulate. Trying a more relaxed approach.

Probably the best thing. I got to know really accurately when I was ovulating because of the help they gave me and learned that dtd the day before a positive always meant a positive hpt two weeks later. Glad we got one to stick but if we can try for a second, I'll go back to these for a few cycles to see if anything has changed. X

I found the advanced ones really helpful. Same as butterfly I kept the tester so it could learn the levels and (apparently) become more accurate. Fell pregnant using it and I think mine lasted 4 long cycles and irregular ovulation. It seemed to work for me Xx

Gave it a go today - even though I'm only Cd7 and I can't see it happening this cycle after a failed medicated fet (that has probably thrown my body out of whack) and also hubby is away 3 nights over possible ovulation day.
But yeah I've got that tiny, tiny, tiny bit of hope.. that always leads to disappointment!

I did a cheapie opk first then with same pee used the clear blue test (even though they say use fmu?)

Cheapie opk was as dark as the test line so thought maybe I'd get a smiley face on the clear blue but nope just a circle!
So feeling like they've been worth the try and maybe cheapies have always been wrong for me?
The cycle before my fet I had positives from cd13-cd21 on cheapies! Not sure I trust them anymore!

I hope the test holder isn't going to freak out about me not testing again til cd9 or 10!

the first day you do a digital you always get a circle - it's reading yr baseline. If you get a pos on cheapies on cd7 I'd start the digitals a bit earlier! Also cheapie opks are normally done after 10am and digital CB tests with fmu first thing.

Definitely dtd today.

That's amazing that they worked so well for you. I might do them again if I don't get pregnant soon!

The cycle we only dtd on the day of a pos opk, no conception. The three cycles with early losses and this sticky cycle, we still only dtd once in each fertile period, but the day before a pos opk and that obviously works for us.i think they're an amazing tool to help us learn more about what works and what doesn't for us as individuals.xx
