Claiming the surestart maternity grant

Do I HAVE to get a form from the jobcentre? That seems like a right pain, I'd have to make a special journey and pay for parking etc

you might be able to order a form online at the working and pensions site? i'm pretty sure that you can ring up and get a form posted for most of those things!

On this subject, my partner lost his job the day Angel was born. And he's now on Jobseekers. Any idea if we'd be entitled before the 3 months is up? I know some people have claimed after, but don't know their circumstances.
