we're going to my parents for over a week for christmas along with sooo many other people. its gonna be like mass catering for my poor mum. My brothers bringing 6 bottles of wine as we're gonna drink them dry but Im totally broke so I want to bake stuff to take down.

All I can think of is mince pies  and there are these thingys you get at christmas that are like nuts held together with caramel or something, i think they might be called something snaps?

anyway if anyones got any ideas, i need to be ableto bake here then transport it there, i'll just stress her out if i overtake her kitchen!!

ooh just thought anyone got a recipe for a chocolate log?

What about truffles? My mum gave me some of her recipes, I'll have a looky later!!

What about-
Chocolate peanut crunch bars;

200g dark chocolate
100g milk chocolate
125g unsalted butter
3 x 15ml tablespoons golden syrup
250g salted peanuts
4 x 40g crunchie bars

1 round cake tin

Line tin with foil
Break or chop up the chocolate and put into a heavy based saucepan with the butter and syrup, put on a low heat and melt gently
Tip the peanuts in a bowl, crumble up the crunchie bars (I cheat and use the food processor) and add to the peanuts
Take the melted chocolate mixture off the heat and stir in the peanuts and crunchie bars and pour straight into the cake tin
Put into tge fridge for about 4 hours and then cut into slices.

This always goes down really well at church!!

Mmmmmh love chocolate brownies! Yum yum!

we always go to either my mum and dads or family friends each crimbo, so I also make tasty treats to take along

generally Ill make a cheesecake (I now do the orange one that was on gordon ramsays show as its quick and easy :) ) a chocolate torte (I think this is a jamie oliver recipe) a vanilla spong cake (from nigella.......hmm looks like I have a celevrity chef problem lol)
then I also make things like sweet chilli jam
oh and I make chocolates :)

My friend does a pavlova which is a nice and easy one that everyone loves
