First Christmas keepsakes

As its DD first christmas i thought it would be nice to get her something she could keep and im struggling with ideas.

I've got Finlay a cute little glass tree decaoration that says baby's 1st xmas 2008 on it from Tesco

We went for a glass bauble too - from Mamas and Papas, like this one (obviously ours says 2007!). It really is beautiful and I've kept it in the box in DD's memory box (not sure if I want to hang it on the tree this year with a destructive toddler on the loose!).

Also from Mamas and Papas, we bought a personalised toy sack, velvet with DD's name embroidered. Expensive but worth it, I think, as her gifts from Santa will be delivered in it every year.

Oo we just got the personalised toy stocking from M&P! they are gorgeous arnt they! DH went all out and even got ones with "Mummy" and "Daddy" on too!

Like the bauble idea. Defo gonna get one of those.

We've got a soft book which you can put picturee in of her first christmas, her first present etc etc. She's got a "my book for firsts" too so it kinda follows on, i got it from mothercare but i'm sure you could find others.

She's also got a babies first chrsitmas tree thing which is a glass bell with minnie mouse in it from disney land and i know my grandma has bought her a babies first christmas bauble, it's tradition to have one in out family

Ive decided i making dd a fabric advent calander out of felt that she can use every year. Its a ruldolph one im really chuffed with it so far.

All of our kids have a porcelain rocking horse with their birth year on it on the tree, got charlies from past times this year, its lush and was only a fiver!

For my LO's first xmas i put her footprint on paper cut it out and laminated it and hung it on my tree thought i might do it every year now and maybe put them in her scrap book.

Yes just cut out your shapes in felt and sew them together and sew on pockets i will post a pic when im done.

I've got Luke a 1st Xmas photo album (soft from Mothercare), bauble from Clinton Cards (Me To You), the glass penguin one from Tesco and also another Tesco one which is a blue ceramic stocking. He also has a blue fluffy stocking for the fireplace

iv bought some paint your own baubles, painted flos hadn and got her to hold them, so theyve got lovely handprints on and then iv painted christmas 2008, and florence onto them
Also bought a nice big stocking for £5 that im going to embroider her name onto
