How do you go about it? I've not been for years and really want to start going! Its so confusing tho! Any ideas of how to choose which one to go to?

I'm CofE, so just went to my closest CofE church. It's only down the road, so a no brainer really! Have you tried an internet search? They all seem to have their own websites these days! I can access ours through a website called achurchnearyou.

 when did you get so far along?! Jesus that's flown by!! I did try googling, but I got really co fused! Will try that site! Thanks Hun :)

We didn't choose one-DD did! Lol! There's 3 churches practically next to each other in our area and we go to the C of E one. It's evangelistic C of E. Now if I was advising someone I'd say go to a church that is gospel lead and teaches directly from the bible. There's a LOT of churches that don't teach directly from the bible and lots that teach mainly from the old testament. It's good to have old testament lessons too but the main focus should be on the gospel. Also a church where you're made to feel welcome and not judged. I was scared we'd be judged at church but the congrgation and the vicar were so welcoming! In fact we've just asked the vicar and his wife to be godparents as we're really close to them :) good luck x x

I have recently changed church , I no longer go to my local one as our parish priest made some hrsh comments when I went to a mummy and baby group and really hurt my feelings :( . So I went to a mass in a few local churches until I found one |I felt settled in .

We try and go to St. Chad's RC Church in Cheadle on Stockport Road but obviously were Roman Catholic. The priest there is lovely he wasn't able to do Ethans funeral because he was away in the holy land but turned up at our house when he got back to see how we were doing. We hadn't met him before that and he welcomed us to the church even though it's not actually our parish church, it's in the neighbouring parish. They do lovely stuff with the kids and it's one of the churches linked to Cheadle Catholic School. Not been for a few weeks must go regularly!

Oh I have to agree with Helen here. I was thinking what you could do is visit a few and see what they're like first. Oh and don't go to one that's too radical. I get scared for people lol.

Lol pinky, i know what you mean! I was talking to my dad about it, cos I'm well stuck! He thinks i should go to a baptist church, which is what he was brough up as, my mum was Methodist ad they convertedto CofE when they met! Which all boggles my mind! My local baptist church is like a portacabin tho, which puts me off for some reason! My sister's said she'll go with me the first time so I don't have to go on my own, am well nervous for some reason!

Omg it's weird you mention this coz I have had the urge to go to church since Xmas but have no idea which one to go to (I have no religion) plus I don't want anyone knowing coz I'm embarrassed about it for some reason  xx
