Is there a bad time to have it? My friends kids have it, I am just wondering if I should take Toby round to play  he is only half way through his immunisations... Is 3 months a little bit too young to try and achieve immunity??? I don't know which is better??? Thanks :)

i was always the kid that never caught it  i used to go round to play with everyone when they had it! and then sods law my mum and dad won a holiday and i caught it days before  i'm not sure if 3 month is a tad young tho, but atleast he wouldnt be able to scratch!

Im not too sure - will be interesting to see what comes up here x

I dont know either. I had it as when I was young (but not a baby) AJ hasnt caught the pox yet.

I was always told that if a baby got it under a year old then they can get it again cos they're immune system isn't developed enough to 'renember' the virus xx

I spoke to Merv's mum about it as her middle one had it when Sid was 1 month and it didn't touch him, propably cos she was breast feeding so proving immunity that way, so decided it wasn't worth it until i have stopped BF him!!

I would have thought that if your friends kids already have chicken pox then your little one wont catch it as the virus is transfered before it breaks out into spots, but i'm not too sure.

I got it when I was in my early twenties and was not well at all so much better to get it as a child but perhaps not when quite so young. xxxx

Yeah I would wait a little bit more before exposing. mine all had it together , when a few years old, the eldest had it badley,(age 4ish) then past it to the middle(aged 2), and it was really mild (he has no pox marks), but it came back with avengence when passing it to the last one last. She was just 13 monthsish and she lay on her back in the cot wriggling about, and she has really quite bad pox marks! They are still quite promient and white and dipped now and she is 8.5 years old.
